The Lady Bucs traveled up Long Hollow Pike Tuesday evening for a contest with county and former district 9AAA rival, Station Camp HS. The game was played back and forth between the 18’s for most of the first half. An evenly played match with few chances for both teams.
The second half opened as Station Camp scored with 37:11 left in the game off a free kick. The scored stayed 1-0 Bison until a Kendra Mueller header went in the back of the net with 12:23 left in the contest. Mueller’s game tying goal came off a free kick by Natalie Lankster. Lankster played a perfect ball toward the back post and Mueller finished it off. The Lady Bucs (6-3-1) have extended their unbeaten streak to 5 games and will play a district match with Springfield on Thursday at 6pm.
Coach Cooke said after the game, “the girls played very well. Even after we got down we fought hard to get back in it and score the goal. I am very excited to see how we finish the season if we can continue to play at that level.”

The game everyone talks about most of the year was played Friday night at HHS. The Bucs started out with a quick strike from Nelson Smith to Ty Dean on a 37 yard TD pass to put the Bucs up 7-0. HHS came back to tie the game at 7 on a scramble by Brett Coker and throw to Austin Halas. Derek Kincaid ran 50 yards for a TD on a speed sweep around the left side to put the Commando’s up 14-7.

A Nelson Smith keeper with 1:07 left in the half tied the game at 14 at the half. The Bucs took the 2nd half kick and marched down and scored again on a 13 yard run around the left side. It was the only score of the 3rd quarter for either team.

Beech had the ball early on in the fourth after stopping HHS on fourth down and Kaemon Dunlap busted thru the line for a 72 yard TD run at 9:02. HHS, now down 28-14 went to the passing game and answered at 5:19 on a 38 yard TD pass from Coker to Anthony Hughes. The Bucs then put an end to the madness as they marched down and Dunlap scored on a 1 yard plunge to make it 35-21, the final score with 4:02 left in the game.

Neither team could do much the rest of the way out and the Bucs remained undefeated on the season at 4-0. Beech will travel to Hunters Lane in a Region contest next Friday. Hunters Lane was beaten by White House 42-7 on Friday.

Nelson Smith was 4-5 for 67 yards, a TD pass and a TD run.
Kaemon Dunlap had 33 carries for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Chaz Williamson (16) and Garrett Butler (8) led the team in tackles.
