Football wins 34-20 over Northside

Petey Parks ran for 119 yards and 2 toudchdowns and Tysean Jefferson scored twice on 66 yards to lead the Bucs to a 34-20 win in their 2019 season opener at Jackson Northside. The Bucs broke a 20-20 halftime tie with two fourth quarter touchdowns for the win.

We currently have 4 grads playing college soccer this year. Sister’s Mueller are at UT-Chattanooga, McCall Decker is at Freed Hardeman and Emily Hickman starts her freshman season at Cumberland.

Jordan Mueller will be a senior at UTC this fall. She has been named 2nd Team All Conference twice as a defender. She played and started all 18 Moc games, playing every minute in 15 of those. Jordan scored 4 points with 2 goals, including a game winner vs Wofford. UTC fell in the first round of the Southern Conference touranament last fall.

Kendra Mueller starts her freshman year at UTC coming off the Lady Bucs AA State Championship and her senior All-State season.

McCall Decker is a junior at Freed-Hardeman. She scored 15 points on 5 goals and 5 assists (tied for first on team) and was second on the team in scoring. McCall had 2 game winners including the first goal in a 2-0 upset of #1 Missouri Baptist in the conference tournament. She played and started all 18 games and played every minute of all 18 games. FHU was eliminated in the MSC semifinals on penalty kicks to end the Lady Lions most succesful season in school history.

Emily HIckman starts her freshman year at Cumberland this fall. Emily was an All State selection on the 2018 AA State Champ Lady Bucs team last year.

BFL's start college season's next few weeks!

Eleven Buccaneer alunnae will start their college sports season’s in the next few weeks. First we will start with our 4 football players.

Former footballers – Ian Haffner WR (Redshirt Junior) at Cumberland), Kaemon Dunlap RB (Redshirt Freshman) at Tennessee State, Brad Montgomery DE (Junior) at University of the Cumberlands and Nelson Smith QB (Sophomore) at Maryville College.

Haffner played in all 11 games a season ago with 15 catches for 178 yartds and 2 touchdowns.
Cumberland plays Cinncinati Christian Sept 7 at 1:30 at home.

Dunlap was redshirted and did not play last fall.
TSU hosts Mississippi Valley State on Aug.31 at 6pm

Montgomery was a big contributer on defense with 47 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two caused fumbles while playiang in 12 games for the Patriots.
UC opens in Florida vs Ava Marie University at 7pm on Sept. 7

Nelson Smith split time at QB and went 98-156 for 1066 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was named Conference Rookie of the Week 3 times.
The Scots host Berry College on Sept. 7 at 2pm
