Baseball – The baseball team has struggled to put together a complete game and their record stands at 7-9. The Bucs have played some very good competition in Trinity (KY) #5 ranked team in KY, Lake Zurich (IL) #10 in 4A in Illinois and other teams in two tournaments. The Bucs were 2-2 in the Warrior Classic last weekend. The Bucs are 2-2 in 9AAA. The Bucs return to district play Tuesday at Wilson Central at 7pm
Softball – The Lady Bucs are 10-6 and 1-1 in district play heading into the final 5 weeks of the regular season. The girls had a 5 game win streak snapped by Sequatchie County last Wednesday in a 12-8 loss. The softball team returns to play Tuesday at Station Camp for a 6pm start.

With two District 9AAA wins over Portland to start the season the Bucs played in the Grand Slam Challenge over the weekend facing 3 AAA opponents.
On Friday we defeated Shelbyville 15-8 in a high scoring affari. Caden Cutrell ;went 3-4 with 2 rbi and Luke Fleming was 2-4 with 2 rbi to lead the Buc offense. Jeffrey Adams picked up the win tossing 2 innings of relief.
On Saturday, the Bucs won two games. First BHS defeated Lincoln County 10-2. Kanon Lewis went 4-4 with 3 rbi and Haven Mangrum went 3-5 with 2 rbi to lead the offense.
In the second game of the day, the Bucs came back from a 4-0 deficit with a 5 run 5th inning to beast Oakland HS out of Murfreesboro. BHS used the Patriots poor defensive play and pitching to take the lead and eventualy win the game.
After Jackson Bryan lef off the 5th with a single Oakland quickly got 2 outs…. and then it happened. Z Anderson’s ground ball was misplayed by the Oakland 3b and Dalton Duer, running for Bryan, scored the first run. Luke Fleming and Haven Mangrum both singled to load the bases. Anderson scored on a Drew Robertson ground ball to short who failed to catch the ball to make it 4-2 Oakland.
Bryson Duffer battled back from a 1-2 count to earn a base on balls to score Fleming. The Oaland 3b made his second error of the inning on a Lewis ground ball and the game was tied at 4. Drew Robertson scored on a passed ball before Bryan grounded out to end the inning with Beech up 5-4.
Lewis came into pitch 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win and Josh Maskill threw the final 1.1 innings to close the game out and get the save.
The Bucs will host Hendersonville on Tuesday at 7pm and will travel to Drakes Creek on Wednesday to complete the 9AAA series.
Friday at 7pm the Lady Bucs basketball team will continue on their quest to get to the ’Boro! The opponent will be Clarksville NW from district 10-AAA. The Vikings are 16-15 having lost to Rossview 42-40 in the semifinals of 10AAA and they also lost to Clarksville in the consolation game 72-63.
Common opponents: NW beat Gallatin 56-52 on Nov. 17, 2018 (BHS vs Gallatin 12/14 : 74-46, 1/25: 81-42); Brentwood Academy lost 74-23 at our Christmas tournament12/21 (BHS beat BA 63-45 on 12/22); Springfield – lost Dec. 11 51-44; won on Jan. 29 40-38 (BHS beat Springfield 66-31 on 12/21)
On Monday evening at Gallatin HS, the Lady Bucs (26-5) defeated Lebanon HS (21-10) 39-33 to win the district championship game. The Lady Bucs pulled out to a 19-11 halftime lead with an 8-0 run to finish the first half.
Neither team could muster much offense as the Bucs were cold from the field for most of the game. Dishiya Hoosier led the Lady Bucs scoring 15 points. MIa Dean chipped in 12 for the winners.
