Lady Bucs dominate Dickson County on Sr. Night
SHACKLE ISLAND – The Beech High School girls soccer team celebrated senior night with a 5-1 win over Dickson County. The Lady Bucs shook off their tendency not to finish and made some really nice shots in the victory.
Freshman Lily Keiser started off the scoring in the last five minutes of the first half as she corralled a rebound and banged it home from inside the goalie box. One the second goal, Kierra Berry took posession from Dickson as they were attempting to clear a corner. She drove down the right side of the 18 and knocked a nice shot past the keeper with just a minute left in the first half.
The Lady Bucs continued their slow starts but once they got going they pretty much dominated play. Starting the second half with a 2-0 lead the Lady Bucs continued to dominate posession.
Burroughs took Berry’s crossing pass and lasered it by the Cougar keeper just minutes into the half. “That first goal by Hailey might be the best combination goal we have scored since I’ve been coaching here,” said Beech coach John Ferguson. “It was absolutely beautiful., oustanding vision, five players… Abbey’s through ball was next level!”
Burrough’s added another on a free kick from 35 yards out that was an absolute laser beam. Chloe Anderson got loose in the box and slipped on in to make the score 5-0 with about seven minutes left in the contest.
The Lady Cougars scored with 4 minutes left to make the fijnal 5-1. “It’s great on senior night to be able to get all the seniors significant playing time. We played very well. We have struggled to hit the target in our past games, but got on track tonight,” added Ferguson.
