Lady Bucs ranked 8th in latest MId TN Girls Basketball Poll

Here’s a look at the top Nashville-area high school girls basketball teams, as ranked by the USA TODAY Network — Tennessee.
1. Riverdale (22-1) – The Lady Warriors held off Blackman 63-56 for their 79th straight win against a Tennessee opponent. Last week: Ranked No. 1.
2. Brentwood Academy (19-3) – All 12 varsity players scored in the Lady Eagles’ 76-12 win over Centennial on Saturday for Brentwood Academy’s 10th straight win. Last week: Ranked No. 2.
3. Ensworth (20-2) – Junior Dontavia Waggoner leads the Lady Tigers with 20 points a game. Last week: Ranked No. 3.

4. East Nashville (22-2) – The Lady Eagles can avenge their lone District 10-AA loss of the season Friday at Maplewood. Last week: Ranked No. 4.
5. Upperman (23-3) – The Lady Bees can complete a fourth straight undefeated record in District 8-AA regular season play with wins at Cannon County and at Macon County. Last week: Ranked No. 5.
6. Macon County (22-5) – Junior Keeley Carter has surpassed the 1,700-point mark for her career. Last week: Ranked No. 7.
7. Blackman (18-5) – The Lady Blaze gave top-ranked Riverdale the biggest scare of a District 7-AAA opponent in their seven-point loss Friday. Last week: Ranked No. 8.
8. Beech (21-5) – The Lady Buccaneers completed a regular-season sweep of Mt. Juliet and are in position to claim the top seed in the District 9-AAA tournament. Last week: Ranked No. 9.
9. Page (24-3) – Faith Wilken’s 18 points a game lead the District 11-AAA leading Lady Patriots into the final week of the regular season. Last week: Ranked No. 10.
10. Mt. Juliet (20-4) – Three of the Lady Bears’ losses – a Beech sweep and a loss to East Nashville – are to Midstate-ranked teams. Last week: Ranked No. 6.
