Palmer (2nd), Horst (1), Herron (5), Rippy (1) and Smith (2) are all ranked in the preseason and this lineup has the ability to battle for the first state title in school history. “If the new guys coming in at the higher weight classes can improve and we can stay healthy this year, we should have a great shot at winning it all… provided we work our tails off and prepare”, said HC Jeff Roberts.“This is the deepest roster we have ever had, there is more competition for mat time and that should help us reach our goals this year”, added Coach Roberts. If you haven’t been to a match come out this year and support the Bucs as they battle there way to Franklin throughout the season in hopes of winning the AAA title.
The Mat Men of Shackle Island open their season November 21 at Independence HS. Their home opener will be November 28 at 6pm vs state power Wilson Central and perennial state powerhouse Clarksville HS. #GoBucs
