Football Bucs destroy Hunters Lane 55-7
Piling up 522 yards of total offense, the Bucs led 35-0 at half and essentially the game was over. This game was the second in which backups got a lot of playing time which will be very beneficial later in the year when they may need to play a bigger role. SR QB Nelson Smith tossed a pair of touch down passes in the contest, both in the 28 point second quarter. Dyilin Hoosier hauled in a 13 yard TD pass and Davis Ward grabbed a 15 yard throw for scores.
In the first quarter the Bucs methodically drove down and Heath Crabtree cashed in from 2 yards out to make it 7-0. The Bucs finished off a first quarter drive at 11:12 with the Smith to Hoosier TD pass. Then just a minute later, Sr DB Ty Dean picked off a pass and took it 41 yards to the HOUSE to give the Bucs a 21-0 lead. After a quick 3 and out by Hunters Lane Chaz Williamson scored on a 1 yard plunge to make it 28-0. Williamson carried twice for 54 yards and a TD.
The Smith to Ward TD connection closed out the first half scoring at the 2:42 mark and a 35-0 halftime lead. The second half saw many 2nd and 3rd teamers see action.
Ja’Sean Parks carried 8 times for 108 yards and a 2 TD’s in the second half to lead the Bucs. Sr. Kaemon Dunlap saw limited action but carried 6 times for 67 yards.
Hunters Lane scored on a 91 yard interception return for their only score. Final: Bucs 55 HL 7
Next Friday the Bucs travel to Springfield and play the Yellow Jackets at 7pm. The Jackets lost to White House 16-14 last Friday.
